Hello there
About Renfew Development Trust
Renfrew Development Trust is a forward-thinking, outward-looking, community-led organisation committed to making a positive and lasting difference in our area. Guided by our shared vision, Our Future, Together, we place community participation, collaboration and inclusive development at the heart of our work, striving to create opportunities and build a stronger, more connected future for everyone.
Established in 2014, the Trust built on the aims and foundations of the Steering Group that preceded it. Since then, it has grown into a valued community anchor organisation, expanding its activities across a broad range of local interests and priorities. Through community participation, partnership working and a strong commitment to local development, the Trust continues to support projects and initiatives that create opportunities, strengthen community connections and contribute to a more positive future for Renfrew.
Renfrew Development Trust acts as the lead organisation for the following projects and initiatives, providing strategic leadership, effective oversight and clear direction to support their successful delivery and ensure that they continue to reflect local priorities and contribute to the long-term development of Renfrew:
Friends of Robertson Park
Friends of Clydeview Park

In March 2026 we submitted the Renfrew Local Place Plan: Renfrew’s Future (2026 – 2036) which was a great achievement for our town and communities providing direct input into the Scottish Planning System.
In August 2026 our Community Asset Transfer Request was approved in full for Longcroft Cottages and we will be starting the legal process soon.
Future Plans
Renfrew Development Trust has undertaken change over the last year, with a re-brand, mission statement and new strategic development plan (2026 – 2030).
Our Vision: Our Future, Together – Future Oriented, focused, attracts stakeholders. Motivates and Inspires.
Our Mission: Our Ambition is to make Renfrew a vibrant and growing community. We want the town to be alive with activity, a great place to live, work and visit. Through developing initiatives, supporting businesses and communities in need, we listen and respond with action.
Our Strategic Objectives:
Improve the wellbeing of the people of Renfrew
Develop our reach and build our audience
Build a stronger organisation
Secure our future
Look after our staff and volunteers
Our mission is to build strong bridges across all sectors of Renfrew’s society and to work collaboratively to deliver lasting benefits for our community. We will continue to work closely with the Local Authority, community partners, businesses and elected members, ensuring that we listen to local needs, strengthen relationships and turn shared ambitions into positive action.
We take a collaborative, partnership-based approach to participation and will continue to be progressive in the years ahead, strengthening our contribution to community development. Over the next year, we will advance our plans to redevelop Longcroft Cottages as a collaborative community hub, while delivering our wider partnership agenda through Renfrew Collaborates. Through this work, we will continue to build bridges across Renfrew, bringing together communities, businesses, public services and other stakeholders to create positive, lasting opportunities for the town.
